Terms of Service

Plain terms for a tool made by an editor for editors. Using the service means you accept them.

Effective [EFFECTIVE DATE]. An agreement between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME — e.g. Studio Mo LLC] (“we”).

What the service does

You give us an Avid Media Composer bin and an index of the drive its media lives on. We return an Adobe Premiere Pro project rebuilt from it — cuts, markers, effects and captions — that points at your media where it already sits. We never ask for your media itself.

This is early software, and you must check its work

The conversion is thorough but it is not yet perfect, and we would rather say so here than have you discover it in a grade. A converted sequence may differ from the Avid original. Treat every result as a draft to be checked against your Avid sequence before you rely on it, and never as a replacement for your Avid project — keep that.

The service is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. We do not promise it will be available, that a given project will convert, or that a result will be correct or complete.

Your work stays yours

You keep every right in what you upload and in what we produce from it. You grant us permission to process your bin only to perform the conversion you asked for and to diagnose it if it fails. Nothing more. We do not use your material to train machine-learning models, we do not show it to anyone, and we do not sell it. It is deleted on the schedule in the Privacy Policy.

What we ask of you

The free tier

A free account includes 10 conversions, with bins up to 35 MB. We may change these limits; if we reduce them we will not take away conversions you have already been given.

You are not charged a conversion when the fault is ours. If the engine fails, times out, or we cannot use the capture index you supplied, the job is marked failed and the conversion is returned to your account automatically. A conversion counts only when we hand you a project.

Availability

Conversions run on hardware we operate, and it will sometimes be offline. There is no uptime guarantee and no service-level agreement. Queued work waits; it is not lost.

Ending the arrangement

Close your account whenever you like by writing to [CONTACT ADDRESS — e.g. support@themozartproject.org]. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will say why unless we are prevented from doing so.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — lost work, lost time, lost revenue — arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim, which for a free account is nothing. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Trademarks

Avid and Media Composer are trademarks of Avid Technology, Inc. Adobe and Adobe Premiere Pro are trademarks of Adobe. This service is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by either company.

Changes

We may update these terms; the effective date above will change and material changes will be announced on the site. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
